           WELCOME to the Bronze Swagman Award for Bush Poetry
from Winton, Outback Queensland

2019 Bronze Swagman Update. Monday 20th May. Thanks to all entrants. 238 entries received. They are just being collated and will be sent to the Judge today or tomorrow.

2019 Bronze Swagman competition closed on the 30th April but the 2020 entries for our 49th competition are now being accepted up until the 30th  April 2020

The family of the late Tim Borthwick is donating a special prize each year
for the best poem from a poet who has not yet appeared in the Bronze Swagman
books, so this year will see the first such award.

ARE YOU COMING TO WINTON? From Easter until the end of the September holidays poet Greg North has a poetry show at the caravan park in town up opposite the BP fuel station. This is at 7pm
And Patrick McCauley has an open stage for poems etc at the back of the North Gregory Hotel each Sunday from 2pm. You are welcome to read or recite a favourite poem or one you have written.
